Michael G. Norman, CPA

Mike founded the practice in 1993. He prides himself on the lasting relationships he builds with his clients, which is a testament to the long-term success of the practice. Mike’s clients include businesses, not-for-profit organizations, estates, and individuals. Mike also acts as the treasurer and accountant for candidates pursuing and attaining county, state, and federal offices as well as advisor to political committees. Mike served as a member of the Glen Cove City Council for fourteen years, serving seven consecutive two-year terms. He previously served as a board director and audit committee chair of Bovie Medical Corporation, a publicly traded company. Mike is a board member of American Community Bank, treasurer of the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation and is a board member and advisor to several other religious and charitable organizations. He is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Dan Brown, CPA

Dan graduated from Dowling College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration concentrated in accounting. He has worked in public accounting for 10+ years, previously working at national accounting firms (PwC and Crowe). Dan teamed up with Mike Norman in January of 2021 to pursue the opportunity to work more closely with both businesses and individuals and help them achieve their goals. Dan’s clients include small and mid-sized businesses, start-up companies, and entrepreneurs. Dan has experience collaborating with companies of all sizes across various industries in both the private and public sectors. He takes immense pride in building lasting relationships with his clients by showing a genuine concern for their needs and general well-being. Dan is also an avid golfer having played competitively in college. He still enjoys playing in the occasional amateur tournament.

Fran Markus, CPA

Fran joined the firm in August of 2013. She has been a CPA for over 30 years. She specializes in “Small Business Accounting” which encompasses all accounting services from setting up an entity, to updating and analyzing client’s general ledgers, to preparing year-end workpapers, closing their books and financial statement preparation through tax planning, estimated tax payments and tax returns. Fran prepares all types of tax returns, from payroll and sales tax returns to individual, business, and not-for-profit returns. Fran also manages various issues from the federal or state taxing authorities on behalf of the firm’s clients.

Mario H. Alvarado, Accountant

Mario joined the firm in June of 2020. Since graduating as a Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society Vice President from Suffolk County Community College with an Associates of Accounting degree, Mario is now completing his Master of Accounting degree and plans to sit for the CPA exam. Mario has a background in personal taxation, operations, and compliance with a focus in Vendor Management, and CRM data migration in the Facilities Management Industry. Mario services several Political Committees and small businesses, including preparation of financial and tax information

Kathy joined the firm in September of 2018. Kathy received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Dowling College graduating in May 2007. Kathy performs bookkeeping and accounting services for various commercial entities and Political Committees, including preparation of Federal and State disclosure filings, Worker’s Compensation compliance, and account reconciliations. Kathy looks forward to using her experience to provide a wide range of services and insight to our clients.
